It’s hard to be a youth today! And it’s really challenging to parent middle and high school youth right now. Mt. Tam Church offers a variety of ways to nurture youth on their journey to adulthood.

Sunday Mornings

Youth, grades 7-12, gather on Sunday mornings with a mentoring adult; for fun, fellowship and meaningful conversation. They discuss current events, faith topics and their lives in the context of their Christian faith. On the first Sunday of every month, youth, grades 4-12, remain in the service with their families, participate in communion, and are encouraged to take a leadership role in worship.

Saturdays of Service

One Saturday per month, youth, grades 5-12, will have the opportunity to serve the local community. Every month will be dedicated to a different cause and the opportunities will be no more than a one hour's distance away from Mt. Tam Church. Check the calendar to see when the next Saturday of Service will be!

GodSquad Gatherings

Typically held on the first Sunday or Thursday every month from 6-8PM, GodSquad Gatherings are a place for youth, grades 5-12, to hang out, play games, watch a movie, eat some pizza, discuss current topics, and just be in community with each other. Check the calendar to see when the GodSquad is meeting next!

Coffee with Emily

On Sunday mornings from 9-10AM and Wednesday afternoons from 3-4PM, come join Emily at Starbucks (on Camino Alto and Miller) to hang out and check in about the week. This will be YOUR time! (And for a limited time you should come for the FREE coffee.)

Summer SALT Trip

Every summer, youth, grades 6-12, will have the opportunity to participate in our Serving and Learning Together (SALT) Trip. Come share your gifts, engage with a community, and learn to see the face of God in yourself and in others. In 2017, the youth are headed to Spokane, WA with Sierra Service Project. Click HERE for the registration form.

Youth are encouraged throughout the year to participate in leadership roles both within the congregation and with our children's ministry program. They serve as craft teachers for children's events, offer special music or read scripture during worship or become camp counselors during our annual children's faith based summer camp program. We invite youth to share their talents and gifts with the church in whatever area they feel called to serve.
