Dear Mt. Tam Church,
This Sunday at 10:30 AM, we will gather for Transfiguration Sunday, a day in the church year when we remember how Jesus was miraculously transfigured in dazzling glory on the mountaintop.
In Luke 9:27-36, Peter, James, and John nearly miss the miracle unfolding before them because they are weighed down with sleep. My sermon, “Dozing Through the Divine,” will challenge us to stay awake to the ways God’s Kingdom is already here—alive in our relationships, our community, and the work of love unfolding in our midst. Where have you seen God at work lately? Where might we bear witness, strengthen, and celebrate the light of Christ shining among us?
As we prepare to journey into Lent, I also invite you to our Ash Wednesday service this Wednesday at 6:30 PM. This 45-minute service will include the traditional Imposition of Ashes, marking the beginning of a season of reflection, renewal, and grace.
Come and worship with us this Sunday. May we open our eyes, stay alert, and step into the glory of God’s presence together.
See you soon,
Pastor Luke
