Dear Friends,
I would like to remind you that this week in worship we will be celebrating All Saints Sunday. All Saints Sunday is an opportunity to give thanks for those who have gone before us in the faith.
From the early days of Christianity, there has been a sense that the Church consists of not only all living believers, but also for those who have gone before us in the faith. For example, in Hebrews 12 the author encourages Christians to remember that a “great cloud of witnesses” surrounds us, encouraging us, cheering us on.
As part of this Holy Day of worship, I invite you to bring photos of loved ones who have entered into this great cloud of witnesses so we can place them on the altar during the service. If you are worshipping at home, you are invited to display these photos near your computer as you watch the live stream.
It is also the first Sunday of the month so we will be sharing in the sacrament of communion. If you are worshiping at home, you are invited to join us with your own bread and juice/wine. It promises to be a morning full of meaning and connection and I hope you can join us.
Wishing you a safe and healthy weekend,
Pastor Luke
