Dear Mt. Tam Church,
Our journey through Scripture continually invites us to see the world through the eyes of Jesus. This week’s passage from the gospel of Luke offers us an exceptional glimpse into the heart of our Savior as a divine rebel, a compassionate advocate who was never silent in the face of injustice and oppression.
In a world that often feels dominated by forces that seek to marginalize and oppress, our calling as followers of Christ is to stand firm in our faith and to raise our voices against the injustices that plague our society. Jesus, in His unwavering commitment to the Kingdom of God, exemplifies for us the path of righteous resistance and divine dissent. He did not shy away from speaking truth to power, nor did He waver in His dedication to the outcast and the oppressed.
As we reflect on this passage, we will be reminded that our faith is not passive; it is active and engaged, always seeking to align with God’s heart for justice and mercy. This Sunday, we are invited to consider how we, as a community of believers, can follow in the footsteps of Jesus, challenging the status quo and advocating for a world that reflects the Kingdom of God.
Let us come together, ready to be inspired and challenged, ready to ask ourselves the difficult questions about where we see oppression and injustice in our own contexts and how we are called to respond.
I look forward to seeing you soon!
Take Care,
Pastor Luke
