It’s hard to be a youth today! And it can be challenging to parent middle and high school youth right now. Mt. Tam Church offers a variety of ways to nurture youth on their journey to adulthood.
Come Join Us!
Sunday Mornings
Youth, grades 6-12, are invited to remain in worship with their families and to take advantage of our “Worship Notes” worksheet to engage with the service and sermon. Youth are also encouraged to take a leadership role in worship, using the gifts and talents they feel called to share.
Youth Group: Faith, Fun & Service

Throughout the school year, youth, grades 6-12, meet once or twice a month focusing on three areas: faith, fun and service. Examples of activities include a service clean up day along the Bay, an interfaith youth gleaning at Green Gulch Farms, bowling, and outdoor movie nights.
Teen Bible Study
8th-12th grade students are invited to join our teen Bible study. We meet on Sunday mornings before church from 9-10am for reading, discussion and prayer. As we occasionally take breaks for holidays or school breaks, please contact [email protected] for more information, to RSVP, and to find out the exact dates of our meetings.
Confirmation
Confirmation classes take place during the school year, every other year. Contact [email protected] to learn more.
Service Trips
Youth, grades 6-12, have the opportunity to participate in service trips. We have served the last 4 summers in Del Norte County, CA with Sierra Service Project. We’ll be making plans for our 2026 youth trip sometime this fall. Come share your gifts, engage with the community, and learn to see the face of God in yourself and in others. Contact [email protected] to learn more.
Leadership
Youth are encouraged to participate in leadership roles throughout the year both within the congregation and with our children’s ministry program. They can serve as craft leaders for children’s events, offer special music or read scripture during worship or become camp counselors during our annual children’s faith-based summer camp program. We invite youth to share their talents and gifts with the church in whatever area they feel called to serve.
