Dear Friends,
As we continue our journey through the season of Lent, we are reminded of the importance of reflection and movement in our spiritual lives. This week we particularly focus on the story of Abraham and his call to move from his homeland and follow God’s will.
In Genesis 12, we read that God called Abram (as he was known at the time) to leave his country, his people, and his father’s household and go to a land that God would show him. This was a radical and life-changing call, and Abram had to trust in God’s plan and provision as he set out on this journey.
As we consider Abram’s call, we are challenged to think about our own lives and the ways in which God may be calling us to move and change. Perhaps God is calling us to leave behind old habits or patterns of behavior that no longer serve us or are not aligned with God’s will. Or maybe God is calling us to take a bold step in
faith, to step out of our comfort zones and follow God’s leading even when it seems risky or uncertain.
Whatever form God’s call may take in our lives, we can trust that God is always with us and will guide us as we seek to follow the way of Jesus. As we reflect on Abram’s story and our own journeys of faith, let us pray for the courage and wisdom to discern God’s will and to respond with obedience and faithfulness.
May we all be open to the ways in which God is calling us to move and grow, and may we be empowered by the Holy Spirit to step out in faith and follow wherever God may lead.
Blessings,
Luke
