Dear Friends,
Have you ever let anger lead you to say something that you immediately regretted? If you are anything like me, the answer is “Yes, too many times!”
Over the past four weeks, we have been exploring the book of Jonah together. Last Sunday in worship, we read that all the people of Nineveh (including the King himself) earnestly repented after hearing Jonah’s message from God. That being said, we will discover this Sunday that this isn’t quite the end of the story. In fact, the ending of Jonah’s tale takes quite an unexpected turn and will remind us that anger and resentment are two things that quickly steal our ability to cherish all of the ways that God’s grace is at work in the world.
In addition to Sunday morning worship, please note that we will also be Celebrating the life of long-time member Gaille Grissom at 2pm. All are welcome to join us for this memorial service and the outdoor reception that will take place after. If you can’t make it in person, the memorial service will be live-streamed and recorded. Just like Sunday morning worship, KN-95 masks will be required to attend in-person and they will be available at the door for anyone who needs one.
Finally, please consider joining us Sunday evening from 5:00-5:30pm for a time of Organ Music, Readings and Reflection. You can learn more about this service in the announcement section below.
Wishing you a healthy and safe weekend and I hope to see you soon!
In Peace,
Luke
