Dear Friends,
I want to begin by expressing a BIG THANK YOU to all who were involved in one or more of last Sunday’s services. We began the day with spirit-filled worship and had the added blessing that our bishop could join us on the live-stream. In the afternoon, we celebrated the life of Gaille Grissom who touched the lives of so many folks in our community and we gave thanks for the promise that her life continues on in the eternal presence of God. Finally, we wrapped up the day with a beautiful evening of songs and readings featuring our beautiful pipe organ. The entire day was a testimony to the importance of teamwork and I am especially grateful for all of those folks who play key roles behind the scenes in our amazing church.
Looking ahead to this Sunday, I am excited to share with you that we will be kicking off a 3-week sermon series entitled “Overlooked Bible Stories.” In this series, we will be looking at 3 strange stories found in our sacred scriptures that most of you have probably never heard of before. We will be thinking about why these obscure stories were included in the text and how we might apply the lessons in them to our lives today.
I look forward to sharing more with you in worship!
In Gratitude and Joy,
Luke
P.S. This Sunday we will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper. If you are planning to join us on the live-stream rather than in-person, we suggest you have bread and juice ready in your home.
