My beloved Mt. Tam Church,
It greets us every morning as we open the door, the springtime symphony of birdsong and noise. From the rhythm section that is the woodpecker to the violins of goldfinches, the cries of crows, the squawks of jays, and the chorus of all birds; it is a gift to listen, pause, and allow the new day to sink into all my senses.
Springtime is that time of hope of optimism and possibility. To the church, it brings the journey of Lent into the promise of Easter. At Mt. Tam Church, we’ve been focusing on giving over to God that which keeps us from wholeness with God such as control, guilt, and fear. This week, the story of the Samaritan woman in John 4 will guide us deeper into what that wholeness looks like. For what do you thirst? What will quench that thirst and hydrate your deepest soul?
Just as I look forward to that natural philharmonic each morning, I look forward to worship with you!
Peace,
Pastor Kim
