Dear Mt. Tam Church Family,
As we witness the ongoing turmoil in Israel-Palestine and the numerous other conflicts around the world, it’s essential for us to come together, join in prayer, worship, and seek hope.
In Matthew 5:9, Jesus says “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” As his disciples, it is our divine duty to seek and advocate for peace and harmony wherever strife exists. The ongoing conflict in Israel-Palestine is a stark reminder of this calling.
The Israel-Palestine conflict has a long and complicated history, with deep-seated grievances and pain on both sides. In the midst of all the complication and uncertainty, may we stand in solidarity with all of those negatively affected by this conflict—especially innocent children and other civilians caught in the middle. Let us pray that the world leaders may find the strength, wisdom, and compassion needed to reach a just and lasting peace.
As we gather for our worship service this weekend, may we trust in the power of prayer and the light of hope that our faith provides. In the midst of turmoil, may we remember that our unity as a community is an illustration of our commitment to God’s message of love and peace.
Through God’s grace and our unwavering commitment to Jesus’s teachings, may we truly believe we can make a difference in a world yearning for peace.
Take care,
Pastor Luke
